Elodie Yung talks Elektra role in Daredevil season 2

January 20, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour this past weekend, Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) has been discussing her role as the deadly assassin and Matt Murdock love interest Elektra Natchios in the upcoming second season of Marvel’s Daredevil.

“We think Elektra is, kind of, a sociopath, you know?” said Yung. “This world is a game for her  – it’s like a chess game – and what motivates her is what she wants. She will use anything she needs to use to get to her goal and if she needs to kill people, she would, you know? She has this coldness and this sociopath in her and I tried to keep that, really.”

“On the other hand, we wanted to create a character with different layers and, I think, Elektra isn’t a bad person, she’s not a good person,” she continues. “She’s a person with different traits, with layers and she’s seeking for who she is, so really, in this season, there’s an arch to her story and, hopefully, she will find out who she is really by the end of it.”

The second season of Daredevil will hit Netflix on March 18th and features a cast that includes Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Matt Gerald (Melvin Potter), Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle/The Punisher), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Elodie Yung (Elektra), Scott Glen (Stick) and Stephen Rider (Blake Tower).
