Fifty Shades of Grey sequels on the way

February 9, 2015 by admin

Ahead of its release this Valentine’s Day weekend (because nothing says flowers and romance like an erotic drama), there was some news coming out of a special fan screening of Fifty Shades of Grey. Some fans tweeted and revealed that the book’s sequels Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed would also be going into development.

So far, none of this is confirmed by Universal, but excited fans (via MTV), who attended the “Fifty Shades First” event in New York said that author E.L. James and director Sam Taylor-Johnson confirmed the sequels.

Fifty Shades of Grey has broken box office records in terms of pre-booked tickets for an R-rated movie, and industry experts reckon it will easily take the box office next weekend with around $61 million. Should the movie meet those numbers, expect Universal to announce the sequels pretty sharpish.
