Firefighter zombies come to No More Room in Hell 2 with new update

January 22, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Torn Banner Studios has released free update 0.2.4 for their eight-player, co-op horror shooter No More Room in Hell 2.  This first update for 2025 introduces the brand-new firefighter zombie, a reworked ammunition and adds several new Responder Skills. There’s also a number of enhancements and bug fixes.  A new trailer can be seen below showcasing the additions and changes this update brings.

The Firefighter zombie is a new formidable zombie to roam rural Pennsylvania and is very recognisable thanks to the yellow firefighter garb, helmet and large oxygen tank on their back.  Although their helmets give them a bit of added protection from head shots, their oxygen tanks can explode if damaged.  This explosion is not dangerous to players but it can potentially knock over nearby zombies, creating a new tactical opportunity for getting a bit of breathing space.

In response to community feedback, the update brings calibre types of ammunition.  To bring things closer to the original game, a variety of ammo types have been reintroduced so that players will need to be a bit more careful with their inventory and the ammo they carry.  However, certain weapon types, such as Shotguns, will still share ammo.

Three new Responder Skills have arrived, these include ‘Immunity’, which reduces the chance of getting infected by 50%, ‘Outdoor Champion’, mitigates damage from fire, water, gas and electricity by 30% and ‘Builder’ which increases the stack sizes for barricade boards and batteries.

Runner zombie types have been enhanced to be more dynamic and unpredictable, their lunge attacks have been adjusted while their climbing ability has been improved.  Despite the increase in difficulty of these type of zombies, the frequency of their spawning has been lowered.

Finally, fixes include getting rid of such annoyances like – resolving missing skills in tier requirements, correcting server toggle translations and eliminating movement corrections caused by collisions with zombies.

This latest update is available for No More Room in Hell 2 now.
