First look images from Disney+’s The Full Monty sequel series

April 25, 2023 by Amie Cranswick

Disney+ has released the first images from The Full Monty, the follow-up to the 1997 BAFTA-winning comedy drama which picks up 25 years after the events of the film and gives us a look at what happened to the gang – Robert Carlyle (Gaz), Mark Addy (Dave), Hugo Speer (Guy), Paul Barber (Horse), Steve Huison (Lomper), Wim Snape (Nathan) and Tom Wilkinson (Gerald) after they put their kit back on.

Taking place 25 years after the original British smash hit, the 8×60’ series will follow the same band of brothers as they navigate the post-industrial city of Sheffield, and society’s crumbling healthcare, education, and employment sectors. The comedy-drama will uncover what happened to the gang after they put their kit back on, exploring their brighter, sillier and more desperate moments. It will also highlight how the fiercely funny world of these working-class heroes – still residing in Sheffield – has changed in the intervening decades.

Reprising their roles are Robert Carlyle as Gaz, Mark Addy as Dave, Lesley Sharp as Jean, Hugo Speer as Guy, Paul Barber as Horse, Steve Huison as Lomper, Wim Snape as Nathan and Tom Wilkinson as Gerald, alongside new cast members Talitha Wing,Paul Clayton, Miles Jupp, Sophie Stanton, Phillip Rhys Chaudhary, Dominic Sharkey, Natalie Davies, Arnold Oceng, Aiden Cook, and Tupele Dorgu.

The Full Monty series will premiere on Disney+ in June.
