Is Challengers The Year’s Best (And Sexiest) Movie? – What Should We Watch Tonight: A Movie Podcast

April 18, 2024 by EJ Moreno

EJ Moreno and Tony Borrero present What Should We Watch Tonight? A Movie Podcast…

Flickering Myth has launched a new podcast cast featuring Florida film critics EJ Moreno (Critics Choice Association, CACF) and Tony Borrero (CACF). What Should We Watch Tonight: A Movie Podcast dives into hidden gems, underrated favorites, and the latest releases. This week’s episode is all about Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers!

Starring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist, Challengers boasts one of the hottest cast and some of the most intriguing moments of any movie this year. If you want a saucy drama that feels like a throwback, you don’t want to miss this.

The hosts also dive into the titular burning cinema question: What should we watch tonight? We get 2004’s Hellboy and Call Me By Your Name presented for this week’s picks. Check out the episode here…

From visionary filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, “Challengers” stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy-turned-coach and a force of nature who makes no apologies for her game on and off the court. Married to a champion on a losing streak (Mike Faist), Tashi’s strategy for her husband’s redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against the washed-up Patrick (Josh O’Connor)—his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend. As their pasts and presents collide, and tensions run high, Tashi must ask herself, what will it cost to win?

Challengers arrives in cinemas on April 26th.
