Josh Gad to star in comedy Heavy Duty

February 12, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Josh Gad (Frozen, Pixels) has signed on to star in Heavy Duty, a new comedy from Paramount Pictures, which is scripted by Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit (1600 Penn, Super Fun Night) from an original idea by Gad.

The film will see Gad as “an ordinary guy who believes losing weight will help him live a more extraordinary life. He signs up for a wellness retreat with a group of fellow underachievers, only to face an unexpected test when things go awry.”

Gad is also producing the film alongside Disruption Entertainment’s Mary Parent and Cale Boyter, with Drew Pearce (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Iron Man 3) serving as executive producer.
