Kevin Smith to address rumours about him writing a fake Batman v Superman script

July 8, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Last week, a report emerged suggesting that all of the “scoops” we’ve heard about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice these past few weeks have in fact been sourced from a fake script, which Kevin Smith has allegedly penned as a diversionary tactic for Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder.

The title page from the script that has been doing the rounds claims that David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio are the authors, and the screenplay itself is packed with fan service and spelling errors, which has drawn its authenticity into question. And now Kevin Smith has taken to Twitter to announce that he’ll comment on the speculation tomorrow:

Riddle me this, riddle me that! Did I write a diversionary script for the Bat? Let me tell you a story… Tomorrow morning at 11am PST.

Interesting that he didn’t just come out and deny it…

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set for release on May 6th 2016, with Zack Snyder directing a cast that includes returning Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) alongside Ben Affleck (Argo) as Batman, Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6) as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jesse Eisenberg (Now You See Me) as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons (The Borgias) as Alfred Pennyworth and Holly Hunter (The Piano), Callan Mulvey (300: Rise of an Empire), Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) and Scoot McNairy (Argo) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
