Kirsten Dunst wishes that Spider-Man 4 happened, not a fan of Amazing reboot

May 17, 2017 by Jordan Jones

Spider-Man 2 is considered by many to be one of the best comic book movies ever made. This was an era before the words “extended universes” came into vogue, and no one had ever really seen anything quite like Sam Raimi’s original trilogy. Unfortunately, Spider-Man 3 really damaged the franchise as a whole, and despite initial rumblings of a Spider-Man 4 featuring The Vulture, the movie never happened and the franchise was rebooted with director Marc Webb and star Andrew Garfield.

We haven’t heard too much from the original cast regarding the Spider-Man films since as they have all gone off to have successful careers, and surely aren’t too keen on having long discussions about the Emo-Peter Parker dance scene in Spider-Man 3. However, Kirsten Dunst has recently given her thoughts on the cancelled Spider-Man 4, and the Amazing Spider-Man reboot.

“I wanted to be in [Spider-Man 4] so badly,” Dunst told Variety. “I loved it, and I wish we could have made a fourth. I don’t care [about the reboot]. Everyone likes our Spider-Man. C’mon, am I right or what? Listen, I’d rather be in the first ones than the new ones.”

Dunst never gave her opinion on the upcoming Spider-Man Homecoming starring Tom Holland, but we can all weigh in on that one when the movie releases in July.
