Lando Calrissian Star Wars event series in development at Disney+

December 10, 2020 by EJ Moreno

After returning to the galaxy far, far away in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and seeing a younger version in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Lando Calrissian is finally getting his own story.

During the jam-packed Disney Investor Day event, Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that the galaxy’s favourite scoundrel will get his own event series on Disney+. There are no details at the time of reporting on when this series will premiere, but Dear White People creator Justin Simien is in the early stages of developing the project.

Fans are curious if the series will see original performer Billy Dee Williams return to the role, or if Donald Glover would reprise his take from 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story. Rumors are already suggesting that the show will feature both as it will flash back and forth in time.

Star Wars: Lando is one of several new Star Wars shows announced for Disney+ alongside The Mandalorian spinoffs Star Wars: Ashoka series and Star Wars: Rangers of the New Republic, Star Wars: Andor, and Star Wars: Obi Wan Kenobi – which will feature the return of Hayden Christensen.

Stay tuned to Flickering Myth for more big Star Wars news coming out of the Disney Investor Day presentation!
