Lenny Kravitz becomes a Bond villain with 007 First Light

December 12, 2025 by Andrew Newton

IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios have revealed that Grammy winner Lenny Kravitz will be joining the cast of the upcoming 007 First Light as The Pirate King Bawma. Kravitz will provide both the likeness and voiceover for this charismatic and unpredictable villain. Meet Bawma in the new trailer below…

Pirate King Bawma (we all know Luffy is the real king of the pirates) is the leader of a powerful and ruthless black-market arms network called Aleph, and in the new trailer, we see him holding James Bond as well as Bond’s mentor at MI6, John Greenway, in a rather delicate situation. I call Bawma a villain, but he’s actually more of a grey area as he blurs the line between ally and adversary.

Surprisingly, 007 First Light will be the first game in which Lenny Kravitz has ever appeared. Talking about Bawma, Kravitz said “He’s magnetic and unpredictable, there’s danger in him, but also heart and purpose. He’s not just a man with power; he is a man who has to fight for every inch of it. Bringing that energy into 007’s world felt incredible.”

IO Interactive also announced the 007 First Light – Collector’s Edition, which is now available for pre-order for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This edition includes the full game, the Deluxe Edition content, the Obsidian Gold Suit outfit, a wearable Mask Lifesize Replica, a Certificate of Authenticity, and a Steel Case with Magnet.
