Lovecraftian FPS Beneath launches closed beta with new trailer

February 4, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Wired Productions and Portuguese indie studio Camel 101 have announced that gamers can now sign up for the closed beta playtest of their upcoming horror FPS, Beneath, find the link below.  A new trailer has also been released (below) showcasing some of the suspense-filled environments and horrors waiting to be encountered.

Beneath draws inspiration from iconic titles such as F.E.A.R., Resident Evil and Half-Life to bring a first-person survival horror that blends action, atmospheric storytelling, tension and a whole lot of Lovecraftian horrors.

Players follow seasoned diver Noah Quinn when a routine expedition finds him trapped in the depths of the ocean with an ancient evil. With his supplies dwindling and the creatures closing in, Noah must confront these unholy monstrosities and uncover the sinister threat that humanity is facing.

Beneath features:

  • Scarce supplies and ammunition mean players will need to keep a watchful eye on every bullet spent, while maintaining their sanity.
  • Hide in the shadows to avoid confrontation or take the enemy head-on in battle. Learn their tactics to survive.
  • Explore hidden depths using the specialised diving suit and unlock the ocean’s secrets, but keep an eye on your oxygen.
  • Encounter a range of enemies from ruthless soldiers to horrifying Lovecraftian monsters.
  • A gripping storyline filled with mystery and eldritch abominations.

Beneath will be coming out later this year on Steam for PC.  Players can wishlist the game now. For those interested in the closed beta, click here.
