Man of Medan will feature two different multiplayer modes

July 13, 2019 by Liam Waddington

In a recent post on the PlayStation blog, Supermassive Games have announced that each instalment of The Dark pictures Anthology will feature two separate multiplayer modes, starting with Man of Medan. You can watch the reveal trailer here…

The Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of standalone cinematic horror games, each featuring a brand-new story, setting and characters. Man of Medan will be the first in the series. Alongside a single player mode, each game will feature two different multiplayer modes – a Shared Story Mode and a Movie Night Mode.

Shared Story Mode allows players to experience the game online with a friend, making choices that will affect you both. This mode will allow both players to enjoy a great story in which each player will see different things and neither will experience everything. There is also a chance that when you and your friend split up, you may never see each your character again.

However, the Movie Night Mode will allow five people to play couch co-op. Each player can enter their name and choose which character you want to play as, then simply pass the pad whenever you character is the main focus of the game. As each character, you can explore, react, and make crucial decisions to keep your character alive and stay in the game. The series will also occasionally present you with a summary of how each player has played throughout the game so far.

You can experience these multiplayer modes (or solo mode) in Man of Medan, the first game in the series, which is set to be released on 30th August on PlayStation 4, Xbox one, and PC. Man of Medan follows a group of four American tourists and their inexperienced captain who set off on a diving trip in search of a WWII wreck, but as a storm rolls in, the group find themselves trapped on board a ghost ship. You decide who lives and who dies.
