Marvel announces Avengers: Doomsday cast with live video as production begins

Marvel Studios is trying out live stream-style announcements for its latest projects, but is this the best way to debut these types of stories? 

We shall see, as the public is just now finding out the cast for the upcoming superhero epic Avengers: Doomsday in a newly released video announcement. In a live-stream event across their social media platforms that has lasted over five hours, Marvel dropped one big name after another for its cast. Starting with Chris Hemsworth’s name on the back of a chair, every 15 minutes or so, a new name was unveiled.

Before revealing the whole cast, the official Avengers account also announced that production had begun on the film, with the Russo Brothers and Kevin Fiege leading the charge. Check out the condensed video below…

We’ll update as we go, but so far joining Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom are Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/Invisible Woman), Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barners/Winter Soldier), Letitia Wright (Shuri/Black Panther), Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), Wyatt Russell (John Walker/US Agent), Tenoch Huerta Mejía (Namor), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/The Thing), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Kelsey Grammer (Hank McCoy/Beast), Lewis Pullman (Bob/Sentry), Danny Ramirez (Joaquin Torres/Falcon), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/Human Torch), David Harbour (Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian), Winston Duke (M’Baku), Hannah John-Kamen (Ava Starr/Ghost), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier/Professor X), Ian McKellen (Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto), Alan Cumming (Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Raven Darkholme/Mystique), James Marsden (Scott Summers/Cyclops), Channing Tatum (Remy LeBeau/Gambit) and Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic).

Avengers: Doomsday is set for release on May 1st 2026.
