Meet Hugh Grant’s Oompa-Loompa Lofty in Wonka clip

November 15, 2023 by Amie Cranswick

Following yesterday’s TV spot for Wonka, Warner Bros. has released a clip from Paul King’s musical prequel which sees Timothee Chalamet’s Willy Wonka capture the ‘Funny Little Man’ he believes has been following him, an Oompa-Loompa named Lofty (Hugh Grant), who launches into a familiar musical number when questioned by the young inventor; watch it below…

Wonka focuses on “a young Willy Wonka and his adventures before opening the world’s most famous chocolate factory” and explores the “vivid, mythical beginnings of the imaginative young inventor before he becomes the renowned scrumdiddlyumptious Mozart of chocolate.”

Directed by Paddington‘s Paul King, Wonka features a stacked cast including Timothee Chalamet, Olivia Colman, Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins, Keegan-Michael Key, Jim Carter, Mathew Baynton, Tom Davis, Simon Farnaby, Rich Fulcher, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Paterson Joseph, Calah Lane, Matt Lucas, Colin O’Brien, Natasha Rothwell, Rakhee Thakrar, and Ellie White.
