STX Entertainment has released a new clip from the upcoming R-rated comedy The Happytime Murders which sees Melissa McCarthy’s Detective Edwards visiting a puppet dealer and trying out their drug of choice, rock sugar – which the dealer claims “will put a human in a diabetic coma for a month, but to a puppet… pure ecstasy”.

THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS is set in the underbelly of Los Angeles where puppets and humans coexist. Two clashing detectives, one human and one puppet, are forced to work together to try and solve who is brutally murdering the former cast of “The Happytime Gang,” a beloved classic puppet show.
The Happytime Murders is set for release on August 24th in the US and on August 27th in the UK.
