Michael Sheen joins Finding Dory voice cast

January 29, 2016 by Justin Cook

Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actor Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex) will lend his voice to Pixar’s Finding Dory, this year’s sequel to the 2003 hit Finding Nemo.

The news comes from an episode of the podcast Doug Loves Movies, hosted by Doug Benson (Super High Me), which was released about two weeks back. Towards the end of the January 13th episode, on which Greg Proops and Julian McCullough also guested, when asked if he had any upcoming projects to plug, Sheen casually brought up his involvement in the sequel. The actor said, “Finding Nemo 2 should be coming out at some point… which I’m in.”

In 2016, Sheen will also be reprising his role as the White Rabbit from Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland in Alice Through the Looking Glass; in addition to that, he will act alongside Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in Morten Tyldum’s Passengers.

The actor’s past projects include a long list of films, such as Underworld, Kingdom of Heaven, Blood Diamond, Frost/Nixon and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

Finding Dory is set for release in the US on June 17th and in the UK on July 29th, with Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks reprising their roles from Finding Nemo alongside Diane Keaton as Dory’s mom Jenny, Eugene Levy as Dory’s dad Charlie, Kaitlin Olson as Dory’s adopted sister Destiny, Ty Burrell as Bailey, Ed O’Neill as Hank and Michael Sheen in an unknown role. The Wire stars Idris Elba and Dominic West will also voice characters.
