Michelle Williams to lead FX’s Dying For Sex

December 2, 2023 by Gary Collinson

Having taken a break from acting after shooting Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans, Golden Globe and Emmy-winning actress Michelle Williams is set to make her return to the screen with the lead role in FX’s limited series adaptation of the Wondery podcast Dying For Sex.

As per Deadline, the series will see Williams playing a woman “diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer who leaves her husband of 15 years and begins to explore her sexuality. She gets the courage and support to go on this adventure from her best friend, who stays by her side all the way to the very end.”

Dying For Sex is being showrun by writers Liz Meriwether (The Dropout) and Kim Rosenstock (Only Murders in the Building), with Leslye Headland (Russian Doll) directing and executive producing alongside Williams.

The series will mark the latest adaptation of one of Wondery’s podcasts, following on from Dr. Death, WeCrashed, Shrink Next Door and Joe vs. Carole.
