Multiple Fast & Furious TV series in development at Peacock

May 13, 2026 by Gary Collinson

Although the mainline movie series is reportedly set to wave the chequered flag with the upcoming Fast Forever in 2028, it seems there may still be plenty of gas left in the Fast & Furious tank, with franchise star Vin Diesel appearing on stage at Monday’s NBCUniversal upfront presentation to announce that several TV show spinoffs are currently in the works for the Peacock streaming service.

“For the last decade, we have realized that the fans have wanted more,” said Diesel (via Variety). “They wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories. And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space… And I had to wait till it was right… It became right when (Universal chairwoman) Donna Langley started to oversee it all, because that’s when I knew that the integrity of the characters, the international appeal, what makes us all feel like family would be protected in the TV space… The news that I have here today is that Peacock is launching four shows from the Fast and Furious universe.”

Variety’s report goes on to state that while Diesel is touting four different projects, they are said to be in various stages of development, with only one currently moving forward towards production at present. Specific plot details are being kept under wraps, but Mike Daniels (Sons of Anarchy) and Wolfe Coleman (Shades of Blue) will serve as executive producers and writers on the pilot, while Diesel will also be on board as an executive producer alongside franchise veterans Neal Moritz and Chris Morgan.

Fast & Furious launched back in 2001 with the original The Fast and The Furious starring Vin Diesel and Paul Walker, before morphing into a blockbuster action franchise across its subsequent ten instalments. The movies have grossed over $7 billion at the box office, and spawned a host of video games, theme park attractions, toys and merchandise. It has also previously expanded onto the small screen, albeit in animated format, with DreamWorks Animation and Netflix’s Fast & Furious Spy Racers.
