New Doctor Who adventure takes The Ninth Doctor and Rose to Cloud Eight

February 5, 2026 by Andrew Newton

Big Finish has released the latest audio adventure for Christopher Eccleston’s Doctor in The Ninth Doctor Adventures: Cloud Eight. This latest adventure, written by Lauren Mooney & Stewart Pringle, takes the Doctor and Rose Tyler back to Earth, but this time to the 47th century, and a city far above Britain.

The Doctor has taken Rose to the far future and even to witness the end of the Earth, but in this latest adventure he’s taking her to the 47th century, the midst of Earth’s Second Dark Age. The duo arrive in High High Wycombe, a luxury location that floats high above Britain, and one where the residents lead a life of leisure with no work or bills.

However, when they visit Elsa and her parents, the cracks in paradise begin to appear, revealing something dark and terrible brewing in the young girl’s mind. While all others sleep dreamlessly on High High Wycombe, Elsa is the only one to have nightmares. Can the Doctor and Rose help the youngster and stop whatever ancient and malevolent force is coming?

L to R: Laurence Boothman, Felicity Cant and Charlie Condou

Joining Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper are Felicity Cant as Elsa, Louise Faulkner as the High High Wycombe resident Chihiro, and Charlie Condou and Laurence Boothman as Elsa’s two dads.
