New Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Adventure heading to Big Finish this October

February 18, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Big Finish Productions has announced that a new full-cast Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Adventures audio drama is set to arrive on their website this October.  Starring and co-written by Tim Treloar, The Third Doctor Adventures – Operation Vengeance is a six part story taking the Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith and the listener around the galaxy.

The Third Doctor (Tim Treloar) decides to take Sarah Jane Smith (played by Sadie Miller) to Konzomia, a planet he had previously visited with Jo Grant. Once there he finds the consequences of his first visit has placed his friends and himself in danger, and an extraterrestrial threat wants revenge by wiping Jo Grant out of existence by targeting her father.  Joined by the Brigadier, the Doctor and Sarah Jane need to travel back to Dunkirk 1940 and save Terry Grant from the villain that wants him dead.

Tim Treloar and Sadie Miller are joined by Jon Culshaw as the Brigadier, Max Bowden as Terry Grant and Katy Manning as Jo Jones, née Grant.

From L to R: Katy Manning, Sadie Miller, Tim Treloar, Jon Culshaw

The script is co-written by Tim Treloar and Nicholas Briggs. Treloar said: “History is one of my passions, and particularly the history of the Second World War. Even though the Dunkirk evacuation is one of the most famous parts of the war, the rearguard – the soldiers left behind to shield the retreating British forces – is a not-often-told story. It was lovely working with Nick as a co-writer. I pitched the story to him, and he said, go on then, write something. I ended up writing all six episodes, and then giving it to him. And so Nick took my script away, shaved off a lot of my waffling, and turned it into a brilliant Doctor Who story.”

The Third Doctor Adventures: Operation Vengeance is available to pre-order now for £19.99 for the download and £24.99 for the download and limited edition Collector’s Edition box set.
