New Dune: Awakening trailer shows off the beauty of Arrakis

February 6, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Funcom has released a new trailer for their upcoming open world, multiplayer survival game, Dune: Awakening. This new video (see below) showcases some of the beautifully modelled biomes that players will experience as they run, ride or even fly over the surface of Arrakis.

Although mainly a desert planet, the world of Arrakis is home to many unique locations, many of which hide secrets waiting to be revealed.  In this new video, briefly visit iconic locations such as Vermillius Gap, Arrakeen, Hagga Rift and the Shield Wall, some of which can be seen while gliding in the Ornithopter.

Dune: Awakening takes players to Arrakis, the most dangerous planet in the Dune universe.  Here, they will find not only scorching hot deserts and deadly Sandworms but also unparalleled beauty.  Players will need to develop their influence over the planet by constructing huge bases, controlling the Spice flow and by combat.

Those who venture to Arrakis will be able to:

  • Survive the planet’s scorching desert and giant sandworms by learning the ways of the Fremen.
  • Construct and upgrade bases, craft vehicles, develop trade and fight to control the planet.
  • Develop their character by following the path of the Mentat, Trooper, Planetologist, Swordmaster or Bene Gesserit.
  • Control the flow of Spice and wage war to stay in power.
  • Join a guild and ally with either House Harkonnen or Atreides.

Look out for Dune: Awakening arriving later this year.
