PO’ed: Definitive Edition announced for PC and consoles

April 5, 2024 by Andrew Newton

PO’ed, the classic 1995 adrenaline-fuelled first person shooter for the 3DO/PS1 is making a return to gamers everywhere as PO’ed: Definitive Edition.  Thanks to Nightdive Studios, gamers on PC and consoles will be able to play this updated version in the very near future.  Watch the new trailer below…

Back in 1995, and inspired by the magnificence of Doom, the original PO’ed wowed players on the 3DO for its quality fast-paced, over-the-top, ultra violent action. A year later it went on to amaze more gamers on the Playstation 1, a place where it earned its true classic status.

In PO’ed: Definitive Edition players take the role of a chef whose ship has crash landed on an alien planet. His ship has been overrun by hostile aliens, all those able to fight on the ship have been slaughtered and worst of all, the soufflé has been completely ruined. With that final outrage it’s time to grab the rocket pack and a variety of weapons and serve up a cold dish of revenge.

Players will make their way through 25 3D environments, battle hordes of vicious alien creatures and take on 16 of the baddest monstrous creatures on the planet, including rock-throwing ogres and plasma shooting robots.  Players will be able to get revenge on these aliens with a range of unique weaponry, such as the Power Drill and the Meat Seeker.

PO’ed: Definitive Edition features:

  • Total freedom to cruise each of the 25 levels on foot or with the jetpack.
  • A variety of quality-of-life improvements to enhance the gameplay and fix the bugs present in the original.
  • Widescreen support for the HUD and other on-screen graphics.
  • A new difficulty mode added for hardcore players.
  • Fifteen achievements to be obtained.

Look out for PO’ed: Definitive Edition coming soon to PC and consoles.
