Post-apocalyptic RPG Broken Roads coming from Team17 in 2022

August 25, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Team17 and developer Drop Bear Bytes have announced they will be bringing a new post-apocalyptic RPG to consoles and PC (via Steam) in 2022.  Titled Broken Roads, this RPG takes players to the apocalyptic wasteland of Australia for non-stop action.  New screenshots and a trailer can be seen below….

Travel to a post-apocalyptic Western Australia and experience a mature storyline with a deep and meaningful morality system that influences not only the quests but also the dialogue and character development.  This wasteland will allow players to visit real-world locations and landmarks as they explore, fight and survive.

In classic single player RPG fashion, Broken Roads players will experience an original and rich narrative set in a lovingly drawn isometric world.  Players will shape their character along our different philosophical paths: Humanist, Utilitarian, Machiavellian and Nihilist, with each having their own unique traits.  Decisions made during gameplay will then affect the philosophical leaning, which in turn affects future choices, quests and reactions from NPCs.

Featuring:

  • Deep and compelling traditional gameplay blended with original mechanics and experiences.
  • A unique morality system that influences both story and gameplay as the plot unfolds.
  • Explore real-world locations across a post-apocalyptic Western Australia filled with intriguing stories.
  • Hand-drawn visuals and a soundtrack composed with instruments constructed from everyday objects help make the world come alive.

Look out for Broken Roads coming to PC and consoles in 2022.
