Regina King is open to a second season of Watchmen under certain conditions

February 27, 2020 by Gary Collinson

With HBO putting the future of Watchmen solely in the hands of Damon Lindelof and the writer and showrunner seemingly leaning towards a “one and done” approach with the acclaimed comic book adaptation, it may be that we never learn whether Angela Abar walks on water… although actress Regina King has confirmed to THR that she is open to the idea of continuing the story, with certain conditions.

“I can see myself being involved in a season two if it was really smart,” said King. “I would need to know the beginning and the endgame, unlike how this season was. I did not know what the endgame was. I just totally trust Damon. There’s a part of me that feels like … it’s just really hard to think we could top season one, you know?”

King’s comments seem to echo that of Lindelof, who has previously stated that while he’s not shutting the door entirely on a second season, he has already told the entire story he wanted to tell. And, while he’s given his blessing to HBO to continue without him, the cable network’s chief Casey Bloys has admitted that “it would be hard to imagine doing it without Damon involved in some way.”
