Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village coming to iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max

September 14, 2023 by Andrew Newton

Veteran publisher and developer Capcom has announced that they will be releasing Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max later this year.  Thanks to Apple’s new A17 Pro chip, this will be the first time these titles from the iconic horror franchise will be natively available on a smartphone.  These titles will also make their way to iPad and Mac.

Capcom’s RE ENGINE takes full advantage of Apple silicon and powerful features like MetalFX Upscaling to bring high quality versions of these Resident Evil titles with stunning graphics and responsive gameplay.  Players will find the games support a wide range of game controllers but there’s also multi-touch with on-screen controls for those who don’t have a controller but want to play these iconic games.

Resident Evil 4 takes place six years after the disaster of Raccoon City and finds Leon Kennedy working as an agent for the president of the USA.  When the president’s daughter is abducted, Leon is sent to an isolated European village to rescue her but this village is far from being the idyllic European location with welcoming inhabitants.

In Resident Evil Village tragedy has once again fallen upon the Winters family as their home is attacked and their daughter kidnapped.  Determined to rescue Rose, Ethan sets out to an eerie village where all is not as it seems.  Ethan’s mission in first-person features photorealistic visuals that immerse players into the horror.

The Winters’ expansion introduces three more pieces of content, including Third Person Mode, The Mercenaries Additional Orders and the epilogue Shadows of Rose, which is set 16 years after the main game.

Both Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village will be available on the App Store later this year.
