Robert Pattinson tapped to play the villain in Dune 3

April 9, 2025 by Matt Rodgers

Robert Pattinson is currently walking the beaches of Greece filming Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, and if rumours are to be believed The Batman and Tenet star is set to keep the sand between his toes for a key role in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune 3.

According to Deadline, Villeneuve is looking to add to an already impressive cast that includes Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh and Zendaya, by offering Pattinson the role of Dune Messiah‘s villainous Scytale.

A recurring character in the world of Frank Herbert’s Dune, Scytale first appeared in 1969’s Messiah, and is described as a Tleilaxu Face Dancer who is a part of the conspiracy to bring down the rule of Paul Atreides.

With filming set to begin in the fall of 2025, and an expected release date of 2026, Villeneuve will be working to fill the cast of the billion dollar grossing franchise.
