Rogue One co-writer confirms he is not involved with the Cassian Andor Star Wars TV series

January 21, 2020 by Liam Waddington

While the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story co-writer Tony Gilroy is set to both write and direct some episodes of the new Cassian Andor prequel series, his co-writer on the film, Gary Whitta, has confirmed he will not be involved in the project.

Taking to Twitter, Whitta responded to a fan who asked if he was involved in the upcoming series or not by simply saying “No.”

In addition to Gilroy, Cassian Andor actor Diego Luna and K-2SO actor Alan Tudyk are also set to return for the upcoming series that is set before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story during the early days of the Rebellion.

Stephen Schiff (The Americans) will serve as showrunner on the series, which has been created and written by Jared Bush (Moana). The Cassian Andor series is expected to begin production in London next year for a 2021 premiere.
