Rumour: Birds of Prey roster and villain reportedly revealed

July 17, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Earlier this month Margot Robbie revealed to us that she expects to begin filming the Harley Quinn-headlined DC girl gang movie Birds of Prey this coming January, and now we have rumours on the team’s roster and the villain of the piece.

According to The Wrap, the Birds of Prey will consist of Black Canary, The Huntress, Cassandra Cain (a.k.a. Batgirl/Orphan) and Harley Quinn – which, if true, confirms the rumours that Barbara Gordon’s Batgirl will not be appearing in the movie.

The report goes on to claim that the antagonist will be “a Batman comics villain who has never before appeared on the big screen”, which would rule out talk of The Penguin. According to vlogger Grace Randolph, said villain may well be the assassin David Cain, who also happens to be the father of Cassandra Cain.

All of this is unconfirmed at present, but hopefully we’ll get some official Birds of Prey news from Warner Bros. and DC Films during their Comic-Con panel this coming Saturday.
