Rumour: Chris Pine playing dual roles in Wonder Woman?

November 16, 2015 by Gary Collinson

A few days ago we got our first look at Chris Pine as Steve Trevor in Warner’s upcoming Wonder Woman movie, which – judging by his clothing – appeared to confirm that the story between Steve and Diana would take place in the past. Well, not so according to rumour hounds Heroic Hollywood, who claim that Pine isn’t actually Steve Trevor in the set photo…

The site claims that the above image actually shows Pine as Trevor’s grandfather, who will actually be the one to crash land on Themyscira during the First World War, and will assist Wonder Woman in fighting the villain Ares. But that’s not all, as Pine will also be pulling double duty, playing Steve – who happens to be identical to his grandfather – in the present day.

Of course, Heroic Hollywood was also adamant that Pine was actually going to be playing Green Lantern rather than Steve Trevor, even after his role was confirmed, so you probably want to take this report with a pinch of salt…

Wonder Woman will hit cinemas on June 23rd 2017, with Patty Jenkins (Monster) directing, Gal Gadot reprising her role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as the Amazon Princess, and Chris Pine (Star Trek Into Darkness) and Saïd Taghmaoui (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) also featuring in the cast.
