Warning: There are spoilers for Wonder Woman below in this post…
According to Screen Rant, some production notes they have obtained have spilled the beans that the sequel to the critically and commercially successful DC Extended Universe superhero extravaganza Wonder Woman will be set during the Cold War, sometime in the 1980s, and features Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince battling the Soviet Union.
However, what’s really intriguing and even downright confusing is the rumor that Chris Pine will also be returning to the action, obviously considering that he met an unfortunate demise during the first film’s climax. If true, it will definitely be interesting to see how Steve Trevor is resurrected from the dead.
Thankfully, although not confirmed, director Patty Jenkins and much of the same production crew are reportedly set to return, so theoretically everything should be in safe hands.
For now, let us know below in the comments what you think of a potential Wonder Woman 2 set during the Cold War with a returning Steve Trevor…
