Sony delays its Marvel movies Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web

September 21, 2022 by Gary Collinson

After the highs of Morbius, it seems we’re going to have to wait a little longer for the next stage of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, with the studio announcing release date delays for its next two Marvel offerings, Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web.

Originally slated to release in January, the Aaron Taylor-Johnson-led Kraven the Hunter movie will now open on October 6th 2023 – a spot which had been reserved for the Madame Web movie starring Dakota Johnson, which will itself now open on February 16th 2024.

The two films will join Venom and Morbius as part of Sony’s shared superhero universe, which also has an El Muerto movie starring Bad Bunny currently slated to open on January 12th 2024. As yet, there’s no word as to whether the Kraven and Madame Web delays will have any knock-on effect here.

Kraven the Hunter is being directed by J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year) and sees Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Sergei Kravinoff alongside Ariana DeBose as Calypso, Fred Hechinger as Chameleon, and Russell Crowe, Alessandro Nivola, Levi Miller, and Christopher Abbott in as-yet-unconfirmed roles.

S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones) directs Madame Web, with Dakota Johnson in the title role alongside Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced , Celeste O’Connor, Emma Roberts, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps and Adam Scott.
