Star Wars: Andor Season 2 confirmed by Stellan Skarsgård, says filming will begin Fall 2022

February 7, 2022 by Liam Waddington

Although there is still no official release date for the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel series Andor on Disney+, one of the cast members has accidentally revealed that the upcoming Star Wars series will be getting a second season.

Talking to the Swedish news site Dagens Nyheter, Stellan Skarsgård revealed that Andor season two is currently scheduled to begin production later this year before the first season has even aired.

“We start with “Dune: Part 2” in July. And then in the Autumn, it’s time for the second season of the “Star Wars” series “Andor“… I do not know when they will start broadcasting it. It will take some time, so that it does not take too long between season one and season two.”

Star Wars: Andor will star Diego Luna, who is reprising his Rogue One role as Cassian Andor, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrara, Adria Arjona (6 Underground), Denise Gough (The Kid Who Would Be King), Kyle Soller (101 Dalmatian Street), Stellan Skarsgård (Chernobyl) and Robert Emms (His Dark Materials). Unfortunately, K-2SO actor Alan Tudyk has previously confirmed that he will not be returning for the first season of the upcoming Star Wars series.

Star Wars: Andor is expected to premiere on Disney+ later this year.
