Steve Buscemi is a retired serial killer in trailer for Psycho Therapy

September 12, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

The Movie Partnership has shared a poster and trailer for the UK release of the dark comedy thriller Psycho Therapy: The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided to Write about a Serial Killer.

Written and directed by Tolga Karaçelik and starring Steve Buscemi, John Magaro, and Britt Lowe, the film centres on a writer who, struggling with both his relationship with his wife and an idea for his next book, befriends a retired serial killer to act as both his marriage council and his inspiration for his novel.

A struggling writer in the midst of a divorce befriends a retired serial killer who incidentally becomes his marriage counselor by day, and killing counselor for his next book by night.

Psycho Therapy: The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided to Write about a Serial Killer will be available on UK digital download from September 15th.
