Sydney Sweeney and Vanessa Kirby join Ron Howard thriller Eden

November 3, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Ron Howard is nearing production on his latest project and has gained some noteworthy stars for Eden as Deadline reports that Vanessa Kirby and Sydney Sweeney have joined the film, which has already cast Jude Law, Ana De Armas, and Daniel Brühl.

The project was previously named Origin Of Species, but now the survival thriller will be called Eden. At the start of the pandemic, Howard looked to begin developing a story he’s reportedly wanted to tell for 15 years. He teamed up with writer Noah Pink to say to the story.

Little is known about the project, but Deadline notes it is based on an unsolved mystery that unfolded on a remote island in the Galapagos and will “chart the lengths humans will go in pursuit of happiness.”

Per the producers, Eden “explores the human condition in ways that are unexpected, absurd, humorous, sexy, but above all thrilling and deeply suspenseful.”

Also joining the Eden crew is legendary composer Hans Zimmer, who marks the tenth collaboration between the two Oscar winners, dating back to 1991 with Backdraft.
