The Coen Brothers western series The Ballad of Buster Scruggs to begin production in July

June 25, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Back in January it was announced that the Coen Brothers are heading to the small screen to write and direct the Western anthology series The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, and now The Playlist is reporting that production on the miniseries is set to begin next month in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is being produced by Annapurna TV and will explore how “the stories of six individuals weave together in the old West at the end of the Civil War.”

While the project marks the Coens’ first TV project, they do have previous experience in the western genre, having directed the True Grit remake, along with the Oscar-winning modern day western No Country for Old Men.
