Sylvester Stallone confirms The Expendables 3 will be rated PG-13

May 19, 2014 by Gary Collinson

After the box office failures of Bullet to the Head, The Last Stand,  Escape Plan and Sabotage, it seems the day of the macho 80s action star is finally drawing to a close. However, in what is surely one desperate last roll of the dice to bring in a new audience, Sylvester Stallone has confirmed that the upcoming action ensemble The Expendables 3 will be rated PG-13.

“We want to reach as many people as possible,” said Stallone during a press conference at Cannes. “It’s very close to an R, believe me, it’s right there. But I think we owe it to the next generation. We thought we’d join that club for a while.”

How do you feel about The Expendables 3 being rated PG-13? Let us know in the comments below….

The Expendables 3 opens on August 15th with Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) directing a cast that sees returning Expendables Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews and Jet Li and franchise newcomers Harrison Ford (Star Wars), Wesley Snipes (Blade), Mel Gibson (Lethal Weapon), Antonio Banderas (Desperado), Kellan Lutz (The Legend of Hercules), Kelsey Grammer (X-Men: The Last Stand), Glen Powell (The Dark Knight Rises), Ronda Rousey (Fast & Furious 7), and Victor Ortiz.
