The King’s Man heading to Disney+ very, very soon

January 19, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

While Spider-Man: No Way Home continues its worldwide box-office dominance, there have been plenty of films that have suffered in its wake, and one such blockbuster is Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman prequel, The King’s Man, which has grossed a fraction of its predecessors earnings. However, as with a lot of pandemic era fare, Disney will be hoping that by shuffling the spy-drama onto its streaming service, it can have an extended shelf life, and they’ll be doing that sooner rather than later.

We might have called it a “frustrating and sometimes unnecessarily cruel mess” in our ★ ★ ★ review, and with a worldwide gross that currently sits at $94M it falls way short of the numbers posted by 2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service ($414M) and 2017’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle ($410M), but if you wish to make up your own mind about The King’s Man then it’s good news for Disney+ subscribers with the announcement that the film will be available to stream from February 9th. It will also hit American streaming platform Hulu in the US on February 18th.

The King’s Man is directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, with Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance.

As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in THE KING’S MAN.

The King’s Man is currently in cinemas and lands on Disney+ in the UK on February 9th.
