The first trailer for the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was unveiled today as San Diego Comic-Con, teasing Sauron’s quest to forge the one ring and gain control of Middle-earth, as uneasy alliances are formed to try and stop his goal of total domination.
Following the character reveals of Jamie Campbell Bower as Galadriel’s long-lost husband Celeborn and Zubin Varla as Khamûl the Easterling earlier this, it was also announced during the panel that season 3 will see Eddie Marsan will portray King Durin IV’s older brother Thrain, Andrew Richardson will play Elendil’s son Anarion, and Adam Young has been cast as the mysterious Orc Marnûkh, while Simon Pegg lends his voice talents to the fiery Balrog. In Season Three, Middle-earth is at war. Five years have passed since the fall of Eregion. Sauron’s armies have marched across the whole of the world, conquering all in their path.
