The T’au come to Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector for The Greater Good

February 16, 2024 by Andrew Newton

The T’au have finally arrived in Slitherine and Black Lab Games’ Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector to bring The Greater Good to the galaxy.  This latest DLC brings 14 brand new units that are all playable in the campaigns, skirmishes and multiplayer. Watch the new trailer below to see how great these units look.

When it comes to the T’au (I’m an old school T’au supporter) I am of the firm belief that they are the only morally adjusted species in the galaxy.  They seem impervious to the taint of Chaos, immune to the footholds of the Genestealer cults and they accept all alien species into their ranks providing they work for the Greater Good.  That said, despite the race’s young age, they know that war is inevitable in the Warhammer 40,000 universe and have a formidable force at their disposal.

Arriving on the battlefield and specialising in long-ranged weaponry are the XV88 Broadside Battlesuit, these are accompanied by the XV25 Stealth Battlesuits, which can blend seamlessly into the surroundings, and the XV8 Crisis Battlesuit Team who have access to a number of devastating weapons.  Of course, they are supported by numerous Fire Warrior Strike Teams and led by the resolute T’au Commander.

The full list of units include:

  • T’au Commander
  • Cadre Fireblade
  • Ethereal
  • Tactical Drone
  • Pathfinders
  • Fire Warrior Strike Team
  • Fire Warrior Breacher Team
  • XV8 Crisis Battlesuit Team
  • XV25 Stealth Battleuit
  • XV88 Broadside Battlesuit
  • XV95 Ghostkeel Battlesuit
  • XV104 Riptide Battlesuit
  • TX4 Piranha
  • Hammerhead Gunship

Additionally, The T’au DLC also provides players access to brand new HQ abilities, including Seeker Missile Strike, Manta Strike and Orbital Ion Beam.

Coinciding with the launch of the DLC is a free new Map Editor where players will be able to create their own maps and share them with other players via a cross-platform upload system. All created maps can be used in skirmishes, multiplayer and the Planetary Supremacy dynamic campaign.

The T’au DLC is available now for Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector on PC and consoles.
