Tom Holland smartly shuts down the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Man 3 rumours

February 10, 2021 by EJ Moreno

We’ve heard about the growing cast for the upcoming Spider-Man 3 from Sony and Marvel Studios for months now. From Jamie Foxx to Alfred Molina, past Spider-Man films’ villains are reportedly returning, but two names stood out among the pack.

The rumor has been turning with reports that former Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield would appear in some capacity in the still-untitled sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home. Marvel hasn’t confirmed it, the actors have been “spotted” on-set with no real proof, and fans are going wild.

One person has finally spoke up about it however, and it’s our latest version of Spider-Man, Tom Holland. The actor took time out of an interview with Esquire to promote Cherry to address these rumors:

“No, no, they will not be appearing in this film unless they have hidden the most massive piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me,” says Holland. “But as of yet, no. It’ll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies that we’ve been making.”

If Marvel Studios and Sony ever want this moment to feel special in the trailers or the actual film, this is the route to go. Let the mystery grow and grow, and use the film’s star to do so, especially with Holland’s hilarious history of “spoiling” things about the Spider-Man movies.
