Tom Holland wants Chris Pratt or Jake Gyllenhaal to play Sully in the Uncharted movie

May 31, 2017 by Jordan Jones

It was recently announced that Spider-Man: Homecoming actor Tom Holland would be lacing up his boots to play a young Nathan Drake in an upcoming movie adaptation based on the Uncharted video game franchise. While this opens up a whole avenue of storytelling for writers to explore, one aspect of the story needs to stay put: Drake’s relationship with Sully.

Anyone who has played the Uncharted games knows how important Sully is to the series. He is the straight man to Nathan Drake’s impulsive rogue. The lovable, dirty crook to Drake’s heroic do-gooder persona. He is essential; especially for a story featuring a young Nathan Drake. So who should play him? Well, Nathan Drake himself has a few ideas. Tom Holland recently sat down with Yahoo movies for a Q&A, and offered up his choices to play Sully in the Uncharted adaptation:

“I think Jake Gyllenhaal could be really cool. But I actually went to the Jurassic World 2 film set the other day to visit my friend who’s directing it and Chris Pratt is on that film, who I’ve become very good friends with over the last few months. I think he would be a great Sully, I think it could be cool. Because if it was an older movie, I would say that Chris should play Nathan, but I think he would be a cool Sully, and I love working with Chris, so if I could work with Chris some more that would be great.”

These are definitely interesting casting choices. Particularly Chris Pratt, whom many hoped would play an older Nathan Drake on film. What do you think of these actors playing Sully? Is there anyone that you think would be better? Let us know in the comments below…
