Tommy Shelby returns in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man trailer

Cillian Murphy returns to his iconic role as Tommy Shelby in Netflix’s Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, a feature-length continuation of the series where Tommy must return to Birmingham in the middle of World War II to regain control of the Peaky Blinders from his ruthless son Duke, played by Barry Keoghan. 

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man was written by series creator Steven Knight and directed by the series’ Tom Harper. The film takes place several years after the conclusion of the series and sees Tommy Shelby in self-exile, removing himself from his past life until he’s dragged back into it after being told his son is on a warpath in Birmingham, causing all kinds of trouble for the British as they fight off the Nazi bombardments. He’s forced to return and confront his past and the demons he thought he left behind.

Returning alongside Murphy from the series are Sophie Rundle as his sister Ada, Stephen Graham as Hayden Stagg and Ned Dennehy as Charlie Strong. Newcomers include Keoghan as Tommy’s grown-up son Duke, Rebecca Ferguson, Jay Lycurgo and Tim Roth. Watch the trailer below…

Birmingham, 1940. Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet. With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons, and choose whether to confront his legacy, or burn it to the ground. By order of the Peaky Blinders.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man will be in select theatres March 6th and premiere on Netflix March 20th.
