August 12, 2021 by Ricky Church

Netflix has released the first trailer for its abduction thriller limited series Clickbait. Watch the trailer below…

Clickbait stars Adrian Grenier (Entourage), Betty Gabriel (Get Out), Zoe Kazan (The F Word), Phoenix Raei (The Heights), Elizabeth Alexander (The Secrets She Keeps), Abraham Lim (The Boys), Jessie Collins (Free State of Jones), Ian Meadows (Dead Lucky), Steve Mouzakis (Prison Break), Daniel Henshall (Defending Jacob), Motell Foster (Foxhole), Jaylin Fletcher (Snowpiercer) and Cameron Engels (Malibu Rescue).

Nick Brewer is a loving father, husband, and brother, who one day suddenly and mysteriously disappears. Soon after, a video appears on the internet of the badly beaten Nick holding a card that says ‘I abuse women. At 5 million views, I die.’ Is this a threat or confession? Or both? As his sister and wife rush to find and save him, they uncover a side of Nick they didn’t know existed.

An eight-episode limited series told from revolving points of view, Clickbait is a compelling, high-stakes thriller that explores the ways in which our most dangerous and uncontrolled impulses are fueled in the age of social media, revealing the ever-widening fractures we find between our virtual and real-life personas.

Clickbait was created by Tony Ayres and Christian White. Ayres will serve showrunner and executive produce alongside David Heyman and Tom Winchester. Directing the series Brad Anderson, Emma Freeman, Ben Young and Laura Besley.

Clickbait will premiere on Netflix on August 25th.
