August 20, 2024 by Amie Cranswick

Sony Pictures has shared a trailer for The Room Next Door, writer-director Pedro Almodóvar’s first English language feature.

Based on Sigrid Nunez’s novel What Are You Going Through, the drama stars Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton are two friends that lost contact due to the circumstances of life, who are brought back together through an extreme but sweet situation. Watch the trailer below…

Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton) were close friends in their youth, when they worked together at the same magazine. Ingrid went on to become an autofiction novelist while Martha became a war reporter, and they were separated by the circumstances of life. After years of being out of touch, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation.

The Room Next Door arrives in cinemas on October 25th in the UK and on December 20th in the US.
