Trailer for rom-com The Best You Can starring Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick

November 24, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

Sony Pictures has released a trailer for The Best You Can, the upcoming romantic comedy from writer-director Michael J. Weithorn which stars real-life married couple Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick.

Bacon stars as Stan, an underachieving security guard who encounters buttoned-up urologist Cynthia (Sedgwick) while thwarting a robbery attempt on her stately home, leading to unconventional friendship that grows into an unexpected romantic entanglement. Check out the trailer below…

Cynthia Rand (Kyra Sedgwick), a buttoned-up New York City urologist married to a brilliant Watergate prosecutor, Warren Rand (Judd Hirsch), 25 years her senior, has her neatly ordered world turned upside down when he begins to slide into dementia. Stan Olszewski (Kevin Bacon), a sharp but chronically underachieving security guard, drifts through life without much direction, his current goal to find connection with his alienated 20-something daughter Sammi (Brittany O’Grady). Their worlds collide when Stan thwarts a robbery at Cynthia’s stately Brooklyn home. What begins as a chance encounter quickly evolves into an unconventional but deep friendship, built on late-night texts, candid confessions, and irreverent humor. As their bond grows their relationship veers into an unexpected romantic entanglement, upending their lives and forcing them to reconsider what they truly want – and what they might be missing.

The Best You Can arrives on digital on November 25th.
