Valiant’s Livewire expands into an ongoing series

August 6, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Valiant Entertainment has announced that its upcoming Livewire comic has expanded from the previously announced limited series into a full-fledged ongoing title as part of the publisher’s new ‘Beyond’ initiative.

“Following the events of Harbinger Wars 2, Livewire is in a vulnerable position, both literally and morally,“ writer Vita Ayala told CBR. “To bring her back to a state of equilibrium (in terms of who she is), we needed to take her down to her foundations and build her back up again. That is not to say that she is becoming a different person, but rather, that we want to get to the core of her and reinvigorate her convictions.”

Once, Amanda McKee knew her purpose. She wanted to wield her machine-manipulating powers for the good of humanity, to protect other superpowered people like her…and time after time she faced betrayal from mentors, colleagues, and even the U.S. government. Now, in the wake of the worst disaster the country’s ever faced – one that was directly caused by her hand – Livewire must decide for herself what kind of hero she will be…if she’ll be one at all.

Livewire will launch in December, from the creative team of Vita Ayala, Raul Allen and Patricia Martin.
