Video Game Preview – Fashion Police Squad

August 20, 2021 by Erika Hardison

Erika Hardison previews Fashion Police Squad…

I am always looking for games to play that don’t require too much strategizing on my part. Sometimes, I just want to play a game that allows me to not think too much to enjoy it. I like all kinds of games from The Sims to several puzzle and fashion-related games so of course, I jumped at the opportunity to test out the upcoming Steam game Fashion Police Squad.

Fashion Police Squad is a first-person shooter game where you are a fashionable cop who sounds a lot like the artist Morris Day. The similarities don’t stop there either. The music soundtrack, the city landscape all look straight from the 1980s. It looks like the original Doom meets Miami Vice television show. It’s packed with dated fashion but of course, your character is the smoothest and most fashionable police officer to hit the streets.

When you first start the game, you receive a radio alert that a man in all-grey looks like a regular Joe. Of course, it’s a heinous crime because the perpetrator has no swag. So in true FPS fashion, you track down the homely businessman and shot them with a high-powered gun that disperses bright-colored shots that will help makeover the outdated criminal. The underdressed scoundrels aren’t just sitting around for a makeover either. They will attract you with almost anything to avoid being splattered by the Fashion Police Squad.

Overall, the game play in Fashion Police Squad is simple and it’s a great fix if you want to play video games but you don’t have the time to invest in hours of gameplay. It’s corny in a good way, because it encourages nostalgia and the music will make you miss the old MTV network. Look out for Fashion Police Squad when it comes to Steam in 2022.
