Warner Bros. announces a Superman & Batman movie for 2015

July 20, 2013 by admin

After months of speculation, Warner Bros. has finally announced the next phase of its DC Movie Universe with Zack Snyder and Harry Lennix taking to the stage at Hall H of the San Diego Comic-Con International to reveal that Henry Cavill’s Superman will be teaming up in 2015 for a World’s Finest movie! Here’s the official logo direct from Comic-Con (via Twitter )…

The actual announcement came from Man of Steel star Harry Lennix (General Swanwick), who read the following line, paraphrasing The Dark Knight Returns: “I want you to remember Clark… in all the years to come. In all your private moments. I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember, the one man who beat you.” Here’s a video of the announcement, courtesy of RahmaniacLive…

The news broke earlier today [see below] although subsequent reports that WB was also planning to reveal The Flash for 2016 and Justice League for 2017 proved to be inaccurate. Still Warner Bros. has certainly created a huge buzz this afternoon, and now Marvel Studios has its work cut out if its to avoid being overshadowed by its rivals over at DC. Here’s our original story…

According to the ever-reliable Hero Complex, Warner Bros. may have a treat for fans attending today’s big Hall H presentation at Comic-Con, with the studio apparently set to announce the next step in their fledgling DC movie universe by confirming that DC Comics’ two biggest superheroes will unite on screen in 2015 for a World’s Finest movie.

Citing two sources “with knowledge of the movie”, the site claims that Warner Bros. will reveal its plans for a Superman and Batman movie, with Man of Steel director Zack Snyder, screenwriter David S. Goyer and leading man Henry Cavill all set to reunite. Apparently, Christopher Nolan is “expected by some” to produce the movie, although it’s unlikely that Christian Bale will return to don the cape and cowl for a fourth time and instead it’s thought that the movie introduce a rebooted Batman.

Update: Things have just got even more interesting, with The Hollywood Reporter now claiming the studio will also announce The Flash for 2016, followed by the long-awaited Justice League the following year.
