Wonder Woman 2 director revealed, Venom delayed, The Last Jedi cameo and more – Daily News Roundup

September 12, 2017 by admin

WONDER WOMAN 2 DIRECTOR

After securing amazing success with Wonder Woman, director Patty Jenkins has officially signed on for the sequel. Gal Gadot will also reprise the role of the Amazon Princess for a December 13th, 2019 release date. Read more here.

MARVEL PRAISE

Although she is yet to shoot anything, Brie Larson has been nothing but praising of her working relationship with Marvel Studios. In a new interview she told The Hollywood Reporter, “although they are this big company, at the same time their stories are really character driven and they care a lot about the journey of these characters and they understand that these films are a metaphor for the things that are very real in our lives. There’s been a lot of talk about it, they’re really open to the things I have to say about it, and it’s super collaborative. It feels like any other job at this point, which is really wonderful.” Read more here.

BED NEWS FOR VENOM

The Sony SpiderVerse has already hit a roadblock, with the news that the production of spin-off movie Venom has already been delayed. Filming of the movie will now commence on October 31st, when cameras were supposed to roll a last week. Read more here.

THOR TRILOGY? NOT SO MUCH

In an interesting interview with Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, he has said that he doesn’t consider the upcoming superhero movie a sequel to Thor and Thor: The Dark World, but the start of a new series. “I don’t mind if people start with this film. In my mind, for me, this is is my ‘Thor 1,;” he told ScreenRant. “I’ve seen the other films, and I respect them a lot. But I can’t spend too much time thinking about this as a threequel. Because then I’ll get tied up too much in respecting what went before, and respecting what’s going to come after. It just, for me, has to be a standalone thing. Because this could be the only time I do this. And I just want to make it a version of a Marvel film in the best way possible.” Read more here.

THE LAST JEDI CAMEO

While in Japan to promote December’s hotly-anticipated movie, Rian Johnson has revealed the first cameo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. “What I can tell you is that my very good friend, the actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who was in a movie I did called Looper, he does a cameo as a voice of an alien in the film,” said Johnson. “It’s a very brief, little thing but it’s fun, and if you watch the movie maybe you’ll be able to hear and pick out Joe’s voice in the movie.” Read more here.
