Wonder Woman shows off her severed trophy heads in unused Crimean War photo from Batman v Superman

January 7, 2021 by Amie Cranswick

Earlier in the week, Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins discussed Warner Bros.’ original vision for Gal Gadot’s Amazon Princess before she came on board to direct, noting that fans didn’t want to see “her being harsh and tough and cutting people’s heads off”.

Well, it seems that Jenkins wasn’t exaggerating, as Zack Snyder has shared an unused photograph from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which was being used as a placeholder during production of the 2016 movie before Jenkins was hired to explore Diana’s origin story with the Wonder Woman solo movie.

Instead of the First World War seen in the final film, we see Gadot’s Diana posing for a photograph during the Crimean War of the mid-1850s – and if you look closely, you’ll see she’s also holding a few trophies from the preceding battle…

It’s pretty clear that Zack Snyder envisioned a rather different take on Wonder Woman to Patty Jenkins, so it will be interesting to see if Diana displays any of this kind of brutality and savagery in the upcoming HBO Max release of Snyder’s Justice League. Is that something you’d like to see from Wonder Woman? Let us know on our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
